about
Space Chase! A new Purple Motion track, after 20 years or so! Oh, how the time flies. I realized that I still have quite a lot of the same likes in music that I had back in the good ´ol Future Crew tracking days. The Arpeggios have never lost their charm!
This is a piece that originally started as a study to learn different synthesizers, and different production techniques. It grew, and became such a nice tune, that I decided to release it out there in the wild.
Using mostly the hardware synthesizers that I’ve acquired over several(!) decades. The main arpeggio riff is a multitracked Moog Matriarch whereas Juno 60, Voyager, ATC-X, Mbase and DRM1mkIV provide the rest. Yes, plugins are nice, but turning the big fat Voyager knob just makes me smile! So, even though it’s slower to write, being physically in touch with the instrument is something I really like. Protools as main DAW while Expert Sleepers provides tight midi.
I hope you enjoy this premiere of my new Purple Motion album project. I will try to release one track a month, until the synth (or me) can't squelch no more! And yes, will keep the names 70´s scifi oriented, because why not.

Jordan Vauvert
The bright, fizzy songs on “Dedication 2” were written and played using the Commodore 64, capturing the vintage computer’s feel. Bandcamp New & Notable May 9, 2021
